We are delighted to announce that we have partnered with Walking With the Wounded!

Walking With The Wounded (WWTW), a leading Armed Forces charity, has partnered with us, to launch brand new missions and resources focused on the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings. The new missions commemorate this significant Armed Forces event and aim to inspire younger generations through engaging materials and activities.

The WWTW Schools Programme provides free resources to schools across the UK, including lesson plans, an engagement calendar, quizzes, and printable materials like posters and bookmarks. To mark the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, WWTW and Commando Joes have created a poetry competition for Key Stage One to Four students. The free-to-enter competition engages young minds and encourages creativity while recognising the importance of D-Day. A panel of guest judges will select one winner from each Key Stage to receive a £25 voucher. The winning school in each Key Stage category will receive a £50 voucher. Additionally, an overall winner will be selected, with their school receiving a mental well-being and resilience workshop led by a WWTW Charity Ambassador.

Victoria Doran, Head of Relationships at WWTW, shared, “We’re thrilled to team up with Commando Joes to launch this innovative educational campaign in schools across the UK. Our School Programme engages young minds and helps maintain a strong connection with the Armed Forces community. We’re excited to see the poetry competition entries and wish all the participating students the best of luck.”

Dan Kelly, Managing Director at Commando Joes added, “Partnering with WWTW on this campaign is an excellent opportunity to introduce young people to the history and significance of D-Day. The lesson plans and poetry competition will inspire creativity and encourage a deeper understanding of Armed Forces history through a new and engaging perspective.”
